Itinerary

Day 1: There are several aquatic animals to visit at Shedd Aquarium and by several we mean about 8,000 from all the waters of the world! Exhibits range from critter camouflage to life in the Amazon. Cheer for your favorite finned actors at the Aquatic Show and explore the mysterious Sea Jellies world where you’ll learn that jellyfish lack not only bones, but blood and brains! The dome-topped Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum will give your group the opportunity to see it all from cyberspace to the solar system. While some of you may take up permanent residency at the telescopes, others will enjoy the exhibit: Shoot for the Moon, a look into the dangers of lunar navigation. Take a stroll through Millenium Park to visit the Cloud Gate or one of their many events like outdoor symphonies! Hosting its own ice skating rink and gardens there is also a very unique multimedia water display called Crown Fountain. Made of two 50 foot tall glass towers on either end of a reflecting pool, the towers generate random images of Chicagoan’s faces from which water spouts, modern day gargoyles!

Day 2: Visit the Skydeck on the 103rd floor of Willis Tower for an amazing view of the rooftops below! Surrounded by glass you can see right through the floor which some may find unsettling, others will be tempted to pose for remarkable photos that will make your friends cringe! Inside the Museum of Science and Industry your group will experience exhibits about farming, submarines, internet, natural disasters and much more! However, the wrap-around Omnimax Theater is five stories tall and plays footage of things in and out of this world! Hands on experiences take your team inside an owl pellet, colored fireballs, the digestive system, transportation of the future and beyond! Prepare for hearty laughter at Comedy Sportz, an improv show that is played like a sports game with blue and red groups vying for the crown! The two teams compete for your laughs six times per weekend!

Day 3: The Field Museum has great exhibits about Tsavo Lions, gems, biological anthropology, Underground Adventure, great white sharks, bioluminescent creatures and more! With over 20 million items in the entire collection, your student travel group could easily spend a whole day just inside this establishment. The collection is categorized into anthropology, botany, geology, zoology, environment, culture and conservation. Navy Pier will be a good way to end your trip with a bit of fun. It offers great views and amusement rides all in one! Situated right beside the serene Lake Michigan, Navy Pier is peppered with sightseeing and dining cruise boats docked in convenient locations, there are performances by magicians, musicians, jugglers, dancers, even the Cirque Shanghai acrobats! At their IMAX Theatre this 440 seat six-story tall attraction entertains students in 2D and 3D with a 60’x80’ screen. Don’t miss the iconic ferris wheel and make sure to swing by the food court for some all American chow!
